An original play by Sarah Pidgeon, The Woman Who Hangs the Stars tells the story of Merope, the lost sister of The Pleiades, who is tasked with hanging the stars in the sky each night. The play follows the clever ambitions of a young boy who has fallen in love with the stars, and aims to acquire a place in the heavens by their side. Through his manipulation of the moon spirit, who has fallen in love with him, he cleverly secures a pathway to the night sky. All is set until his eagerness turns into cruelty and his ascent to paradise becomes his eternal burden as Merope chooses him as her permanent replacement.

The play used the traditional elements of fable storytelling along with live music and movement to create a minimal but enchanting folktale of Greek Mythology.
